“ A rustic atmosphere with a few (but not predominantly) local characters as guests, friendly owners, and very tasty food! Even though the place doesn't immediately look like a "hut," it's a great place to stop at the end of a hike through the Hexenklamm gorge or simply for a meal out. The menu is currently concise, but there's something for everyone (a special request regarding allergies was accommodated without hesitation). The wait time after ordering at the counter (self-service!) was normal, and you get a good view into the clean kitchen and can see who's cooking. The fresh taste of the schnitzel is particularly noteworthy; you could clearly hear it being prepared in the kitchen after ordering. It's also worth mentioning that small portions are available, which are perfectly adequate for the average hiker's appetite. The pricing is more than reasonable, and the biggest plus, which I simply have to emphasize, is that you can actually get a satisfying meal, including a side salad and a glass of sparkling water, for just €10 (as of May 28, 2022). As a family of two adults and two children, we spent €38, which included two large and two small soft drinks, three small portions of schnitzel, and an extra order of fries. In short: Highly recommended not only as a rest stop during a hike, but also for a quick bite whenever you're in the area! ”
